The Buffalo Bills Alumni Foundation announced this week it will bring the hallowed halls of Canton, Ohio, to Western New York as it salutes the legends of the NFL at the 2010 edition of its annual Weekend of Events in September.

Sixteen members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be honored and recognized at a series of alumni weekend events Sept. 11, 12 and 13. It includes:

  • On Saturday, Sept. 11, the Bills Alumni Foundation will host the Legends of the NFL VIP Gala at the Seneca Niagara Events Center in Niagara Falls,
  • On Sunday, Sept. 12, the Legends of the NFL VIP Tailgate Party takes place behind the field house at Ralph Wilson Stadium, followed by the Bills vs. Miami 2010 season home opener.
  • The finale on Monday, Sept. 13, is the annual Celebrity Charity Golf Classic, which will be held at the new, $25 million Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Club in Lewiston, which was designed by Robert Trent Jones III.

"This is going to be one of the most exciting weekend of events we have ever had," said Bills Alumni President Booker Edgerson.

"I don't believe that Western New York has ever seen 16 Pro Football Hall of Famers at one event," added Edgerson. "It will be awesome."

The following Hall of Famers have been confirmed for the Bills Alumni Weekend of Events; Ted Hendricks-Oakland Raiders; Leroy Kelly-Cleveland Browns; Tom Mack-Los Angeles Rams; Don Maynard-New York Jets; Charley Taylor-Washington Redskins; Elvin Bethea-Houston Oilers; Jim Taylor-Green Bay Packers; Lem Barney-Detroit Lions; Larry Little-Miami Dolphins; Bobby Mitchell-Washington Redskins; Mel Renfro-Dallas Cowboys; and, Paul Krause-Minnesota Vikings. There are also four Buffalo Bills Hall of Famers attending: Joe DeLamielleure, Billy Shaw, Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas.

The Buffalo Bills Alumni Weekend of Events is the foundation's marquee fundraiser as proceeds from monies raised from the weekend go directly to support numerous local charities. The Bills Alumni Foundation has donated more than $1 million dollars over the past several years.

This opportunity to participate in this weekend and rub shoulders with these members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame is open to the general public. For ticket information on all events, including the golf tournament, contact JRC Promotions at 694-7867.

Sponsorship opportunities are also still available.
