Recently, the Village of Lewiston, Artpark & Co., and New York's Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation have discussed the possibility of opening a new exit leading from the performing arts venue to the Robert Moses Parkway south (Niagara Falls). In this scenario, patrons exiting Artpark via Portage Road could turn right on Seneca Street (shown left) and onto the RMP. This new connection, only available during the "Tuesday in the Park" concert series, would be the only way for motorists to access the parkway. Center Street to the RMP would be closed.

Shelley Weinreb, representing the State Parks' Western District, said the design process is now under way. Mayor Bill Geiben said he is optimistic such work could be completed this summer. As seen above, right, there is currently a fence and a small stretch of grass between the village road and the parkway. (pictures by Joshua Maloni)
