The Peace Education Fund, a project of Riverside-Salem United Church of Christ/Disciples of Christ, will host POEM (Peace On and with the Earth Month) Sunday, April 9, at the environmental cottage, 3449 West River Road.
The event will feature Sinead Tyrone's poetry from her just-published book, "A Song of Ireland," and her previous book of poetry, "Fragility," as well as music from Nan Hoffman and Joe Tumino. The Island duo blends vocal harmonies and guitars to cover a wide range of folk songs and ballads, both contemporary and traditional, including topical, spiritual, and humorous songs.
Riverside-Salem Church's Peace Education Fund (fundpeace.org) is free to all (free-will donations will go to the Peace Education Fund).
The event will take place from 4-6 p.m. and includes refreshments and a potluck.
