Lewiston Choraleers presenting Easter cantata at area churches

The Lewiston Choraleers will present an Easter cantata at four area churches April 8, 9, 14 and 15. The cantata, "A Journey to Hope" by Joseph Martin, is a sacred work musically inspired by traditional spirituals and tells of the ministry, passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The dates, times and sites of the performances are as follows:

•Saturday, April 8, 2 p.m.: First Presbyterian Church, 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston

•Palm Sunday, April 9, 2 p.m.: Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church site), 2966 Independence Ave., Niagara Falls

•Good Friday, April 14, 7 p.m.: First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 100 Church St. 

•Holy Saturday, April 15, 2 p.m.: Messiah Lutheran Church, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston

The 50-member Lewiston Choraleers will be led by founder and musical director Donald D. Shrimpton, and accompanied by pianist Lynda Williams. The performances are open to the public, with a general admission fee of $5 (children 12 and under admitted free).
