Lewiston Lions support Camp Hope and Dale Association

The Lewiston Community Lions hosted two local organizations during the club's February dinner meeting. Representing their organizations were Dr. Sam Pappalardo of Camp Hope, and Nancy Smith of the Dale Association. Both organizations received a monetary donation from the Lewiston Community Lions in support of their work within the community.

Camp Hope is a free bereavement camp for children age 7-13 that addresses the special needs of grieving children. Camp Hope was established in 2001 and was the first hospice bereavement camp for children in Western New York. At Camp Hope, children play, talk together about their losses, share emotions with others, and recognize that grief is a natural response to losing a loved one. Together, they learn ways to help themselves cope, as well as learn to help each other. Children enjoy camp activities with others in their age group.

The Dale Association is a not-for-profit organization providing an umbrella of human services for adults of all ages. Each service has the goal of enhancing the quality of life for people. 
Founded in 1951 in response to a concern for older adults living alone and in need of social and recreational opportunities, The Dale Association began with the belief that people needed to be involved with life to remain healthy, active and happy. The Dale Association helps people maintain the independence they want. Today, it is still making lives better as a comprehensive human services organization with programs for adults of all ages and from all walks of life.
