Rellim Hair & Makeup Design Studio celebrating 5 years

Event set for Jan. 6

Lauren Rose Miller is marking five years in business next Friday, and welcoming existing and future customers to stop into Rellim Hair & Makeup Design Studio from 4-7 p.m. for a special launch party.

"On Jan. 6, I'm having a little open house party here to celebrate and thank my clients, everyone that has been so supportive, and come to me since I started; followed me throughout the years. And I really just, because of the five-year mark, I really want to show everyone my appreciation," she said. "I'm going to have cocktails and appetizers just for everyone to kind of mingle and for me to thank everyone. And, also, we're going to do that day a little ribbon-cutting for the spray-tanning booth."

Speaking of the new "Rellim Tan" VersaSpa spray-tanning machine, Miller said, "I'm really excited about it, because it's state-of-the art. It's super-advanced. You can customize anything how you want it. It's really fast and easy to do. You don't need an appointment for it. You can just walk in and get it done whenever you want - whenever I'm here.

"I also offer monthly memberships for it, like other tanning salons do, so that, if people are more frequent with it, it's obviously better, moneywise, to be a part of the membership."

Located inside the Cayuga Street miniplaza, Rellim Hair & Makeup Design Studio is one street removed from Lewiston's most prominent business district.

That's just fine with Miller.

"The past five years has been really exciting, and I've really learned a lot about who I am and what I want to be in this business," she said. "Because I've kept the salon small, I've been able to tailor more specifically to each of my clients. And a lot of them really like the fact that it's not a crazy, big, busy salon. It's nice and private, and kind of a slower pace."

Miller said, "I definitely love what I do," and credits her success over five years in business to loyal clients.

"I owe everything to them, because they're the ones that keep me creative; keep me inspired; keep me on my toes with trends," she said. "It's really nice, because you get to learn people's personalities, things that they like, things that they don't like. It's nice to be able to have someone sit down and, even if they don't feel good about themselves, we're able to fix that within their two-hour appointment. I really like that."

"I'm just really excited about my five years, and I'm so thankful for everyone that's supported me," Miller added. "I love doing it, and I hope I can continue to do it for many years to come."

Rellim Hair & Makeup Design Studio is located at 757 Cayuga St., SF No. 1 - adjacent to Favorite's Pizza and Lewiston Dance. For more information, call 716-946-8382, visit the business on Facebook, or visit its website at www.rellimhairandmakeup.com.

"We are currently working on an app for Rellim," Miller said. "I'll have some cool promos and stuff that are posted through the app; some client loyalty - like frequent kind of a punch-card thing on the app; hair tips, tricks; and then tips, too, for prepping for the spray tans, and for the lash extensions that I do; and care instructions for hair and lashes and makeup."
