Jessica Visser, R.N., was named vice president of patient care services at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. MSM President and CEO Gary C. Tucker, FACHE, made the announcement.

Visser joined Mount St. Mary's in 2004 and previously served as a nursing director, supervisor and unit manager. She succeeds Barbara Bucci, R.N., who retired earlier this year after more than 40 years of service.

"I am excited to build on the solid nursing foundation we have here at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. We are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients," Visser said. "Our nursing team is proud of the contributions we make to support the numerous professional achievements and certifications the hospital has received, including our accreditation by The Joint Commission.

"As the chief nursing officer, I will continue to lead our nursing team in the transformation of health care, as we focus on excellence and our commitment to quality patient care.

"Mount St. Mary's has a rich history in this community and I am proud to be part of an organization that has such a commitment to serving all who come here, associates and patients alike."

Thomas Cumbo, M.D., vice president of medical affairs, said, "The collaboration between the nurses at Mount St. Mary's and our physicians is strong. Our medical staff congratulates Jessica and we look forward to working with her as she assumes this important role at Mount St. Mary's Hospital."

Visser is a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is also trained as a green belt in Lean Six Sigma certification.
