Although Oct. 31 is the last calendar day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the education component of breast cancer never really ends.

For the past 22 years, The Breast Cancer Network of WNY has chosen the second Saturday of November to present its annual education day for breast cancer survivors, friends and families.

"We feel that the awareness and education pieces of breast cancer should be emphasized all 12 months of the year, and try to offer programs throughout the year," Executive Director Rob Jones said.

He cited the agency's monthly education seminars, education day, resource center and community presentations as way the Breast Cancer Network continues to educate beyond of the month of October.

The 23rd annual education day is titled "The Emotional Journey of Breast Cancer," and offers presentations from several expert guest speakers on breast cancer survivorship and wellness. It will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Grapevine Banquets in Depew. Details and registration can be found at www.bcnwny.org.
