Twenty-year-old Carly Marrs of North Tonawanda, whose vehicle struck and killed two teenagers walking along Shawnee Road, plead not guilty Oct. 26 at the Town of Wheatfield Court.

Marrs is charged with imprudent speed, a traffic infraction; reckless driving, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

During the early morning hours of Aug. 20, Melanie J. Aronow, age 18, of Amherst and Quience Harper, age 18, of Lockport, were both hit by Marrs' vehicle and died at the scene. A third pedestrian, Quincy Bird, age 20, of Lockport, was also struck by Marrs' vehicle and suffered injuries.

A party at a nearby home was taking place at the time of the crash and cars were parked on both sides of the roadway.

During investigation, a pipe containing marijuana was found in Marr's vehicle.

The Niagara County Sheriff Office's forensic lab tests indicated Marrs was not impaired by marijuana or alcohol.

Marrs is set to return to court on Nov. 23.
