The Town of Niagara will host its free "Halloween Week" youth festivities from Wednesday, Oct. 26, to Friday, Oct. 28, at the Calvin K. Richards Senior/Youth Center, 7000 Lockport Road, in Veterans Memorial Community Park.

From 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, children can participate in pumpkin carving and face painting. Balloon animal activities with Mr. No the Balloon Guy will also be featured. Refreshments will be available for attendees.

On Thursday, families can view comical performances by entertainer Nels Ross of "In Jest" Shows, Keynotes & More. From 6-7 p.m. Ross will perform for children ages 7 and younger and from 7-8 p.m. he will perform for children ages 8 and older. Refreshments will be served, as well.

From 6-8 p.m. Friday, cookie decorating, arts and crafts and a costume contest will take place. Food will be available for purchase.

Town of Niagara Recreation Director Amanda Haseley said the department tries to offer not just youth Halloween activities each year, but parties for Christmas and Easter, as well.

"Halloween turned into multiple nights to try and create more family events," Haseley said. "We encourage parents to come with their children and engage in activities with them! We love having families and the community in the park."

Participants must sign up for all events. For more information, or to register a child, call the Town of Niagara Recreation Department at 716-297-5243.
