Town of Porter Recreation Director Kathy Zasucha was honored as the Citizen of the Year by the Town of Porter-Village of Youngstown Republican Committee at a fall fundraiser. The annual affair, held Wednesday at the Ransomville firehall, saw a number of local, state and national GOP figures in attendance, highlighted by U.S. Rep. Chris Collins, who presented Zasucha with a congressional commendation.

Zasucha is shown with Collins and GOP Committee Chairman Duffy Johnston.

Others in attendance include local candidates for office, many of whom are running unopposed, including Mike Norris (Assembly), State Supreme Court Justice Mary Slisz and Niagara County District Attorney Caroline Wojtaszek.

Collins spoke of his role in working with GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"Things are going very well. We are going to win this election. I do enjoy being his chief surrogate," Collins said. "A Republican House working with a Republican Senate and a Republican president, we are going to get this bus turned around. We're going to get this going in the right direction. We're going to put America first." (Photo by Terry Duffy)
