The Grand Island Medically Oriented Gym (MOG) is inviting Western New Yorkers to its first health fair, from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7. Guests can tour the fitness club and take advantage of free biometric testing, fitness evaluations and even a complimentary massage. There will also be a raffle for a free stay at a bed and breakfast.

The MOG Fitness Club will have OG Wood Fire and The BBQ Food Truck, as well as a table by 95 Nutrition, a Grand Island-based meal delivery service, set up outside for guests to enjoy. Inside the 12,000-square-foot club, guests can meet with the MOG team of nutritionists, physical therapists, massage therapists and fitness instructors.

The MOG collects vital health and fitness data, and founder Russell Certo, an experienced physical therapist, sets up a plan for each member based on an individual's fitness score and genetics. The unique facility includes a physical therapy office within the complex. Many gym members undergo a physical therapy evaluation to create custom exercise programs suited best for them.

"We wanted to reintroduce ourselves to the community and show the MOG's unique offerings," Certo said. "The data-driven spectrum of services we provide is like no other fitness center in Western New York. If you wear a Fitbit‎ or a similar device to learn from fitness data, the MOG is the place for you."

MOG Fitness Club is offering a health fair promotion: New members who sign up for a six-month membership will receive the seventh month at no cost.
