Chairman Nick Forester of the Niagara County Democratic Party has officially endorsed incumbent Assemblyman John D. Ceretto for New York State Assembly.

Forester said, "Assemblyman Ceretto is an honest public servant. His commitment to Niagara County has been steadfast and complete, and now, as part of the majority, he has reaffirmed his pledge to fight for his constituents. The assemblyman is for the people, selflessly leaving politics at the water's edge to do what is best for the citizens that rely on him. On behalf of the Niagara County Democratic Committee, I am proud to officially endorse Assemblyman John D. Ceretto for the office of state assemblyman, representing the 145th District of the state of New York.

With Ceretto in the majority conference, he can deliver the resources the county desperately needs, Forester said.

This past year, the assemblyman fought to raise the state aid to schools in his district by $12.6 million. He secured more than $4 million in capital project funding, something he said could not be done from the minority. Ceretto has brought over $150,000 in nonprofit aid monies. He has accomplished all of this in just under two years.

"Ceretto has done his job in Albany," Forester said. "His character and ethics are absolutely unimpeachable. He has fought hard for his constituents, and his impressive list of accomplishments is the proof. His leadership has played a vital role in spurring economic recovery and has helped create new jobs that will greatly impact Niagara County for decades. With him representing all of us in Albany, we can be sure that our interests have a voice. Assemblyman Ceretto is a man of faith, a courageous public servant, a devoted family man, and now, the Niagara County Democratic Committee's endorsed candidate for the 145th Assembly District."
