Power City Eatery, a mammoth deli and coffee house serving fresh breakfast and lunch dishes, officially opened to the public Wednesday.

Congressman Brian Higgins, Assemblyman John Ceretto, Mayor Paul Dyster, members of the Niagara Falls City Council, local business and tourism leaders, friends and family joined in a ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming restaurant owners Kyle Bajor, Joseph Hotchkiss and Michael Lewis. Complimentary samplings of signature items were offered to those in attendance, and included house-made pastrami on rye and New York-style cheesecake with fruit.

Located at 444 Third St., in the former Niagara County probation office, Power City Eatery is the latest development on the bustling street. The eatery features deli-style sandwiches and a full barista coffee bar, as well as wine and beer from locally owned wineries and breweries. Specialty menu items include corned beef, as well as bread and bagels baked daily each morning, and locally roasted coffee.

Regular hours of operation at the new eatery are 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
