Free concert on Erie Canal banks

Join in for good times, food and a free concert at "Fun, Food & Folk," from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, July 8, at the Erie Canal Discovery Center, 24 Church St., Lockport.

The Traveling Towpath Troubadours will cruise to Lockport to entertain, and the Bossman's BBQ & Catering food truck will offers dinner, all beside the Erie Canal.

The Towpath Troubadours will perform from 6-8 p.m. Admission is free.

Bossman's will serve barbecue sandwiches and more from 5:30-8 p.m. Food truck sales benefit the Niagara County History Center.

Bring your own lawn chairs. In the event of rain, the Discovery Center will house the program.

Troubadours Bill and Kay McDonald are journeying along the Canal in July, performing in communities along the way. They'll perform music of the 1960s and '70s, as well as original compositions. The Towpath Troubadours promote the Erie Canal through music, history, the arts, nature, fitness and more in Canal communities like the one in Lockport.

This program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts and the Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council "Go Art!" program.
