Memorial's Golisano Center to offer evening care hours

Personalized care for patients who have non-critical illnesses, injuries

Patients who can't see their doctor during daytime office hours will have a new option beginning June 27: evening hours at the Golisano Center for Community Health.

Patients will be seen there weekdays from 5-9 p.m. All patients will be served, including those who receive primary care services elsewhere, said Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Chief Operating Officer Sheila K. Kee.

"This new service will offer real convenience to children and adults who need to see a doctor after daytime office hours," Kee said. "No appointment will be needed and walk-ins will be welcome. If a patient already has a primary care doctor, we will update that doctor about his or her patient's visit."

The Golisano Center, located 533 10th St., adjacent to Memorial's ER1 and Heart Center of Niagara, opened in May. The Niagara Falls Memorial Primary Care Center occupies spacious offices on the center's first floor and operates a full-time daytime practice. Patients will now be welcome there during extended evening hours.

The first such medical service in the community, it will offer convenient, personalized care for minor illnesses and injuries, including colds, sore throats, cuts, strains, sprains, headaches and fever. All insurances accepted by the medical center will be accepted for primary care.

"This will be an excellent option for people who need care for non-life-threatening situations that don't require emergency room treatment," Kee said. "We are proud to be the first to bring this concept to Niagara Falls."
