Ceretto celebrates local women's accomplishments at Women of Distinction ceremony

Niagara Falls City Hall filled with some of the area's most influential community members on Saturday, April 16, in celebration of the Women of Distinction Awards, which were presented by Assemblyman John Ceretto.

At the gathering, Ceretto thanked business professionals, nurses, volunteers, teachers and other community leaders for their contributions.

"It is so important to take the time to recognize the many people in our community who constantly go above and beyond," Ceretto said. "The women we honored on Saturday are role models for their communities in innumerable ways. Their commitment to excellence is something we should all strive to emulate."

Ceretto recognized the following women for their accomplishments in the specified categories:

  • Phyllis Corey (Volunteer)
  • Linda D'Anna (Education)
  • Mary Ann Hess (Community/civic)
  • Dr. Veronica Mason (Health Care)
  • Anne Marie Moraca-Sawicki (Other - health care/education)
  • Laura Lee Morgan (Business)
