Join the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce for a free program on identity theft at 8:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union (Community Room, 721 Center St., Lewiston).

What are thieves doing to your personal and business information while you sleep? Identity theft happens every two seconds. Did you know the Internal Revenue Service has paid out $5.8 billion in fraudulently filed income tax returns? Are you doing all you can to protect your personal, business and customer information?

Pat Herberger, Chamber of Commerce member and certified identity theft risk management specialist, will share the latest information on what thieves are doing and what you can do about it. A risk assessment will be available to take for both personal ID theft and business ID theft.

The program is free for chamber members and residents. Pre-registration is required. Call 716-754-9500 for more information or register online at www.NiagaraRiverRegion.com.
