Fueled by a new 3-on-3 tournament format and a two-goal performance by Pacific Division captain and All-Star Game MVP John Scott, the 2016 NHL All-Star Game on NBCSN was the most-watched and highest-rated all-star game in the network's history, averaging 1.595 million viewers and a 0.90 household rating, according to Fast National data from The Nielsen Company.

Viewership of this year's NHL All-Star Game (5:03-8:27 p.m. ET) from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville was up 34 percent vs. 2015 (1.194 million). This year's viewership peaked in the 6:30-6:45 p.m. quarter-hour, as 1.89 million viewers watched Scott score a pair of goals in the Pacific Division's 9-6 win against the Central Division.

The Pacific Division went on to win the All-Star Game with a 1-0 victory in the championship round over the Atlantic Division, which defeated the Metropolitan Division 4-3 in the tournament's first game.

This year marked the introduction of the 3-on-3 tournament format to the All-Star Game, inspired by the NHL's new 3-on-3 overtime format, which began this season.

Buffalo was tied for the lead in viewers.
