Primanti Brothers is celebrating the Pittsburgh Steelers victory today by sending its "Almost Famous" sandwiches to Buffalo as a thank you to the Bills for overcoming the New York Jets -allowing the Steelers a chance at the postseason.

Sandwich kits were prepped Sunday night by Primanti Brothers will be finalized and shipped to Buffalo today from the restaurant's flagship location in the Strip District.

"Nothing says 'Thank you' like a great meal," said Toni Haggerty, general manager of Primanti Brothers' original location. "And there's no better meal in Pittsburgh than Primanti's."

By beating the Jets, the Bills ensured the Steelers would see the postseason with a victory over the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers topped the Browns 28-12.

"We all need a little help from our friends," Haggerty said Sunday. "And today, the Bills were our friends."

The sandwich kits being sent to Buffalo include Primanti's Italian bread, select meats, provolone cheese, tomatoes and, of course, it's famous cole slaw and fries.

Ex-pat Steeler fans - or those looking to send a bit of the Burgh to someone else - can order their own Sandwich kit until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 6 (select Jan. 8 as a delivery date) to celebrate the upcoming weekend in style with a taste of home.

Iron City, unfortunately, is not included.

More information about ordering can be found on Primanti's website, www.PrimantiBros.com, or via its Twitter handle, @PrimantiBros.

"Oh, and you know, those kits going to Buffalo, I think we'll probably toss in a 'Terrible Towel' or two," Haggerty said.

Joe Primanti opened a cart in Pittsburgh's Strip District selling sandwiches to hungry truckers who were coming and going at all times of the night. Encouraged by sales and the positive feedback he got, he decided to expand to a small storefront on 18th Street, where he was joined by his brothers, Dick and Stanley, and their nephew, John DePriter. And that's how the very first Primanti Bros. location was born.

Primanti Bros. currently has 26 locations.
