Niagara Greenway projects and meetings announced

The Niagara River Greenway Commission will meet Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, to determine the consistency of the 48th round of projects. The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. in the Community Room Building on the Grand Island Nike Base, 3278 Whitehaven Road.

The executive committee meeting will begin at 2 p.m.

The projects under consideration are:

•Citizens for Regional Transit - Buffalo Skyline Aerial Gondola Feasibility Study

•Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy - Scajaquada Trail Phase 5/Rumsey Woods

•Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy - South Park Lake Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration

•Buffalo State College Great Lakes Center - Mapping the Niagara River

•Village of Youngstown - Water Street Sidewalk Project

Public comment on these projects is now being accepted through Jan. 4. The projects are posted online at www.niagaragreenway.org. Comments may be submitted to [email protected] or by hard copy to the commission at P.O. Box 1132, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.

The Niagara River Greenway Commission is a public benefit corporation established by Chapter 460 of the laws of 2004. It is charged with the planning and development of a greenway of interconnected parks, river access points and waterfront trails along the Niagara River from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario at the site of the historic Fort Niagara.
