Tom Keefer and Celtic Cross, in conjunction with Brookside Banquets of Newfane, will host an evening to honor the life and works of Scottish poet Robert Burns in what is traditionally known as a "Burns Supper" on Saturday, Jan. 23.

"This is our fifth year," Keefer said. "We have always featured local bagpipers. We have 'The Bagpiper of Wilson,' Evan Keefer, and Tim Demler of Pendleton, Haggis, a 'Best Legs Contest' for the men in kilts, door prizes, fantastic food and Scottish music from Tom Keefer and Celtic Cross. Returning this year will be an audience participation event: Scottish country dancing with Stephen Hay of Scotland.

"Even if you're not Scottish or just Scottish-curious, this is the event for you. It will be both historical and hysterical, including pageantry interwoven with great humor. You do not have to wear a kilt to attend."

Tickets are $30 and can be obtained from Brookside Banquets (716-778-8500).
