UPDATE: Fatal accident in Cambria

At 7:07 p.m. Thursday, a Niagara County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the corner of North Ridge and Ridge roads in the Town of Cambria. The accident is currently under investigation by the NCSO Accident Investigation Unit with assistance from the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was pronounced dead at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport, and a passenger in the vehicle was transported to ECMC with internal injuries. The deputy also was transported to ECMC with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger and deputy were both transported by Mercy Flight.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Sheriff's Office is looking for a vehicle that was in the area of Route 425 on Route 93 around 7 p.m. that yielded to a patrol car with emergency lights activated as a possible witness in the accident investigation. Anyone with information regarding this vehicle is asked to make contact with the Sheriff's Office at 716-438-3327.

UPDATE: The driver of the eastbound vehicle on Ridge Road, who was pronounced deceased at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport, has been identified as Glenn T. Annalora, 61 years old, of Lockport. His passenger has been identified as Mary A. Annalora, 58, also of Lockport. The driver of the Niagara County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle has been identified as Deputy James H. Bissell III.

The investigation is continuing by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit and Niagara County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Bureau.
