It's a celebration of all the sights and sounds and flavors of fall.

The 2015 Autumn Festival, presented by the Sanborn Business and Professional Association, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 and 4 at the Sanborn Lewiston Farm Museum, 2660 Saunders Settlement Road. This marks seven years for the event, said Bonnie Haskell, the museum curator.

"We're having a vendor show, a flea market," Haskell said of the event. "The vendor show includes crafts, antiques, jewelry, things like that."

This year, a new feature is a petting zoo for children, Haskell said. There are other attractions for younger visitors, as well.

"We'll have the pumpkins for the kids (to decorate) and a kids section that will be inside with the vendor fair," she said. A harvest ride will take place (weather permitting), and some pumpkins will also be for sale.

Joe Webber will present entertainment from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. A basket auction will take place both days, with drawings at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Refreshments will include hamburgers and hot dogs outside. Inside in the kitchen, Haskell said, expanded offerings will include meatball subs, chili, root beer floats and peach shortcake.

A few more attractions may still be added, Haskell said, but the celebration of the season is otherwise ready to go.

"Our telephone poles will have their scarecrows," she said, referring to the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce event, which promotes decorated scarecrows on display in its area. "The town will be all decorated. We're ready. We'll be ready.

"We just hope we have good weather and we can put two good days together. Every year, for the last few years, we've lost one day. We'll keep our fingers crossed."
