Join the social movement by posting a photo of your tattoo on your Twitter, Facebook and Instagram profiles

Inspired by NBC's upcoming drama series "Blindspot" and the intricate body of tattoos on the mysterious Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander, "Thor: The Dark World," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), #NationalTattooStoryDay invites everyone to share the story behind one or more of their tattoos today and tie into "Blindspot" by including #Blindspot.

"Blindspot" premieres Monday, Sept. 21 (10 p.m. ET/PT), on NBC.

If you don't have a tattoo and want to be a part of the movement, tattoo yourself at http://nbc.com/blindspottattoo. Additionally, your tattoo story may be featured on nbc.com.

Whether your tattoo was inspired by a piece of artwork, an ex-flame, your pet, a loved one or favorite superhero, NBC wants to hear all about it. Share it on Sept. 16 by following these simple steps:

1. On Wednesday, post a photo of your tattoo on your social profiles.

2. Include your "tattoo story" in the post, explaining why the tattoo is important to you, what makes it special or why you got it. Also, include the hashtag #NationalTattooStoryDay and #Blindspot.

3. Ask your friends and family to share their tattoo stories.

In "Blindspot," a beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, which begins to follow the road map on her body into a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.

The cast includes Sullivan Stapleton ("300: Rise of an Empire," "Strike Back"), Marianne Jean-Baptiste ("Broadchurch," "Without a Trace"), Rob Brown ("Treme"), Audrey Esparza ("Black Box"), Ukweli Roach ("The Royals") and Ashley Johnson ("Much Ado About Nothing").

"Blindspot" is a production of Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions.
