The thermometer may not be persuaded yet, but we've now reached Labor Day weekend and the unofficial end of summer.

Regardless, there's still plenty of great grilling to be had (we're talking to you Buffalo Bills fans) and propane is the best way to do it.

Even the New York Times Magazine agrees, in its current article "The Propane-Fueled Endless Summer": "Get a gas grill going, and you can run it 12 months a year. ... Think of a propane grill as an outdoor stove, and you will discover a form of cooking that delivers the pleasures of the summer cookout as easily in November as in July."

First and foremost, propane users should review the fundamentals of safe grilling with these safety tips, whether in a video with the Food Network's Sunny Anderson, or through the resources available at www.propanecomfort.com.

Then share some ideas for recipes, while helping U.S. veterans and their families: A donation to Hope For The Warriors (suggested minimum of $5) will get folks a free digital copy of the "Grilling For Heroes" cookbook featuring dozens of family-favorite recipes from across the country.

With that, everything's over but the shoutin' - for your favorite teams!
