The public is invited to support Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue at Tin Pan Alley and The Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q. this Friday and Saturday while enjoying a special end-of-summer happy hour re-named "Yappy Hour."

The "Kiss The Dog Days of Summer Goodbye Yappy Hours" will take place from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Tin Pan Alley, 775 Cayuga St., Lewiston, and again from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at The Brickyard, 432 Center St., Lewiston.

A portion of "Yappy Hour" sales will be donated to the volunteer animal rescue organization. There will be a basket auction and other games. Heart of Niagara board members and volunteers will be present to meet and greet the public and to answer questions about adoption, volunteer opportunities and upcoming events.

Monthly volunteer meetings have been moved to a new location and date beginning this month. The next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 (third Tuesday of the month) at the North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive. New volunteers are always welcome.
