Congressman Chris Collins today announced $2,387,370 in federal funding from the Federal Aviation Administration for two local airports.

The Niagara Falls International Airport received two grants totaling $2,091,390 for the construction of a new terminal building and the acquisition of 68 acres of land for new runways. The Perry-Warsaw Airport received $295,980 to enhance two runways.

"Supporting local governments by maintaining, repairing and building critical infrastructure is a beneficial use of federal tax dollars," Collins said. "Providing these local airports the necessary funding for a variety of improvements will allow for more efficient and safer airport operations. Continued investment in local infrastructure is necessary to ensure that valuable economic assets like the Niagara Falls International Airport and the Perry-Warsaw Airport can continue to grow and successfully serve their communities."

The congressman's office remains available to assist any local government pursuing a federal grant.
