Passalugo appointed compliance officer at Memorial

Anne Passalugo, MPH, RRT, has been appointed corporate compliance officer/director of risk management at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center effective immediately.

Passalugo, who joined the medical center staff in 2001 as a respiratory therapist, was appointed emergency management/ambulance service coordinator in 2009 and subsequently assumed management oversight for community programs, including Project Runway, Niagara Falls Community Health Worker Program, Migrant Health Program, Tuscarora Indian Reservation Health and Niagara County Cancer Services.

She is a graduate of Erie Community College and the University at Buffalo, where she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in public health. More recently, she successfully completed the Harvard Business School's executive education course in managing health care delivery.

Passalugo serves on the board of directors of the March of Dimes-Western New York Region and chairs the Healthy Moms/Healthy Babies Coalition, Niagara County Migrant Health Coalition and the medical center's emergency management committee.

In her new role, Passalugo will ensure the medical center is in compliance with federal and state regulations as well as accreditation standards related to compliance and risk management. She also will administer the center's property, casualty and liability insurance programs.
