The First Niagara Foundation will make a donation to The Teacher's Desk for the first run scored by the Buffalo Bisons in every home game of the 2015 season. The Teacher's Desk is a store where teachers shop free for students in need.

"At First Niagara, we are focused on education, supporting initiatives that provide opportunities for our youth to thrive, giving them a chance to reach their potential. John Mika and his team at The Teachers Desk are shining examples of how individuals who care can really make a big difference," said Elizabeth Gurney, executive director of the First Niagara Foundation. "The Teacher's Desk is providing valuable resources for teachers and students all over Western New York, and we are proud to support their efforts."

"We are grateful to First Niagara for their support and for being such a caring community partner," said Mika, executive director of The Teacher's Desk. "Last year, over 84,000 students benefited from the work of The Teacher's Desk. With this generous donation, we can continue our mission to give hope to students in need, encourage teachers and provide purpose through volunteerism."
