Milestone anniversary promises kicked-up party fun

The Buffalo History Museum will dance into its 10th annual "Party on the Portico" summer happy hour series from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 19. This year's lineup of bands is especially selected with the emphasis on "party."

The milestone anniversary will feature more history-related activities and the continued (and popular) 15-minute mini-tours. More details will be announced as planners gear up to make the 10th anniversary indoor-outdoor celebration extra memorable.

Dates and Bands

June 19 - The Ifs led by prolific and world-traveled musician Geno McNamus. This band gives a "British Invasion" pop history lesson through the music of the Rolling Stones, Beatles and others.

July 17 - Cock Robin will bring back the "magical moments that electrified the '70s." Get ready for some Bad Company, Queen, Bowie, Deep Purple and much more.

August 21 - The Rockaz, "Built on folk from all four corners of Buffalo." The Rockaz is described as a unique blend of soul, reggae, R&B and funk, served best on the dance floor.
