The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Ruhwedel (age 24, 5'11", 181 pounds) joins the Sabres for the first time this season. He currently leads all Amerks defensemen with 31 points (8 goals, 23 assists) through 59 games in 2014-15 and ranks 12th among all AHL defensemen.
Now in his third season with the Sabres organization, the San Diego native has played in 28 NHL games for Buffalo and signed a two-year contract extension with the club in July.
