'Winter Safety Day,' 'The Ultimate Fitness Challenge' at The Ice at Canalside

Learn how to be safe in this extreme winter weather. "Winter Safety Day," presented by Cleve Hill Auto and Tire, will be an afternoon learning experience on how to keep comfortable behind the wheel when faced with a challenging situation and performing outdoor activities. There will be two demonstrations today, at 1 and again at 2:30 p.m., featuring SMART Cars on the Ice at Canalside. The cars will demonstrate the difference between snow tires and regular tires.

In addition, preselected couples have been chosen for the first ever Pinnacle Athletics Sports Group, "The Couples Ultimate Ice Challenge." At 1:30 p.m., the select duos will compete in four rounds of obstacles that will test fitness, compatibility and strength as a pair all in hopes to win a Lisa Hunter signature ring, dinner at Russell's Steak, Chops & More, and an overnight stay at Salvatore's Grand Hotel.

Both of these events are free and open to the public.
