If you thought the "Big Game" in Phoenix was exciting Sunday, wait until you see this: "Bragging Rights!" the hometown television game show, returns for a second season this Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. on WBBZ-TV.

Watch for a special preview tonight at 8 p.m. and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on WBBZ. Sign up and become a contestant now at www.wbbz.tv.

Buffalo Broadcast Hall of Famer John Di Sciullo returns as host. Di Sciullo is production and promotion manager for WBBZ. Watch for special celebrity guests to help keep score.

It's easy to visit and compete. Simply click "Contestants" at the top of the WBBZ website or email [email protected]

"Bragging Rights!" is an interactive quiz show tailored to fit the classic theme of the MeTV programs that air on WBBZ. Questions are hometown-based and general knowledge.

Local families, volunteer firefighters, teachers, students and area celebrities make up the teams. Contestants compete for sponsored prizes, and the bragging rights of winning the game. Winning teams playing Feb. 3 through the end of May will compete to win three new LED 50-inch HD TVs from sponsor Dirt Cheap TV.

"Bragging Rights" is brought to you this season by two hometown classics, Chef's Restaurant of Buffalo and Vidler's 5&10 of East Aurora.

Teams and individuals interested in playing can go to www.wbbz.tv and click the tickets box, and submit their information to sign up their teams.

The programs will be recorded on most Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. at the WBBZ-TV studio inside the Eastern Hills Mall (next to Macy's).

"Our brand is about our hometown, and classic television," Di Sciullo said. "Games have been a part of the television landscape since the medium began, even locally with 'Dialing For Dollars' and 'Strikes, Spares, and Misses.' Our show blends game elements while getting to know our hometown neighbors."

WBBZ-TV owner and Executive Producer Phil Arno added, "We had great success this past summer with the show. Of all the local programs we have produced, I believe bringing the community together to acknowledge them, and play a fun game together, continues to identify us as a true local station."

WBBZ is seen throughout Western New York. For more information, call 716-630-9229 or visit www.wbbz.tv.
