Further investigation by the Lewiston Police Department revealed the motive behind the stabbing/assault on Jan. 6 was a physical domestic between the original victim, Turhan Clause, 24, and his 21-year-old girlfriend, who is the sister of Sheena A. Anderson, the original suspect. Said domestic occurred a few hours earlier on Jan. 5. Clause was subsequently charged with unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, assault (third degree) and criminal mischief (fourth degree).

At 12:44 a.m. Jan. 6, the Lewiston Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road for a stabbing/assault. Upon arrival, patrols found Clause had been stabbed in the back of the head, cut in the neck and on his shoulder with a knife during an altercation. He was conscious, bleeding and in respiratory distress from the trauma to his neck. Tri-Community EMS and the Sanborn Fire Department responded and transported the victim to ECMC where he was rushed into emergency surgery.

Anderson, 27, of the City of Niagara Falls, was arrested at her residence on Maple Avenue. She was charged with assault with a deadly weapon (first degree, a class B felony).

Anderson was arraigned in the Town of Lewiston Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail on $5,000 bail or 10,000 bond.
