The U.S. Small Business Administration and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will update small business owners on their health insurance options during a workshop to be held Jan. 13 at Memorial's downtown campus.

Greg Lindberg from the SBA will join Christin Culligan and Ellen DiPofi of the medical center's insurance navigator program to answer questions and discuss the options a business has when it comes to providing insurance. One-on-one sessions will be available following the presentation.

"The Affordable Care Act and Your Business" will be presented from 8 to 10 a.m. in the HSBC Community Room at Memorial's Heart Center of Niagara, Walnut Avenue at 10th Street, second floor.

The Affordable Care Act includes a variety of measures that benefit small employers and self-employed individuals. In 2015, businesses will have more choice over their health insurance through the "Small Business Health Options Program" (SHOP) marketplace, and the individual marketplace.

The programs are designed to simplify the process of buying health insurance for small businesses.

Registration is required for this free event. To register, visit events.sba.gov. For more information, call Lindberg at 716-551-4301, ext. 303, or email [email protected].
