Buffalo Sabres recall Tim Schaller, Mark Pysyk from Rochester

The Buffalo Sabres recalled forward Tim Schaller and defenseman Mark Pysyk Sunday from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Schaller (age 24, 6'2", 206 lbs.) will join the Sabres for the second time this season. He's currently tied for the Amerks' team lead with eight goals and ranks fourth on the club with 18 points (8 goals, 10 assists) in 29 games. The Merrimack, New Hampshire, native made his NHL debut Nov. 29 in Montreal, and played two games with the Sabres this season, registering five hits and three blocked shots.

Pysyk (age 22, 6'1", 192 lbs.) was recalled for the first time this season. The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native is currently tied for second among Amerks defensemen with 10 points (1/9) in 28 games. Buffalo's first-round pick (23rd overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft, Pysyk has tallied 12 points (2/10) in 63 games for the Sabres since making his NHL debut in 2012.
