President, Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual window and Christmas tree decorating contest for businesses in the Village of Lewiston. The contest gave those who entered the competition an opportunity to create beautiful and creative displays to enhance the village's streetscape. Visitors often remark how beautiful the village looks this time of year with the lights and decorations lining Center Street and beyond.

With more than 200 ballots counted, the winners in each category were as follows:

Christmas Tree Display:

•Phil Mastantuono Agency (Allstate), 419 Center St. (designed by Complete Senior Care)

Christmas Window Display:

•Angel to Apple Clothing & Shoe Boutique, 451 Center St.

Additionally, the Chamber of Commerce drew one ballot at random from all of the entries to receive a $35 Niagara River Region gift certificate. Beatrice Paonessa of Youngstown is the lucky winner.

Fifteen businesses/organizations participated in the contest, and many more decorated both their windows and trees as part of the holiday spirit. Participants included: Antique to Chic, Canterbury Place, Coldwell Banker Integrity, Coppins Service Center, Ever After Consignment Boutique, Lewiston Animal Hospital, Realty USA, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, St. Peter's R.C. School, Sunny's Roost Bed and Breakfast, The Country Doctor Antiques and Tuscana Salon and Spa.

Information on future events can be found on the chamber's website at www.NiagaraRiverRegion.com.

The Phil Mastantuono Agency (Allstate), won the Christmas tree display. Complete Senior Care designed the company's entry. Pictured are Candida Middleton (white coat), Mildred Harris (seated) and Glenn Tilyou.
