Boy Scout Troop 630 is collecting items for the less fortunate as part of a Christmas community service project.

The troop is collecting items for Code Blue Relief Mission, an organization that distributes items to the homeless in the Buffalo area, and is asking the community for donations of new or used adult items. Donations can be dropped off from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at St. Stephen's old Church parking lot, where Code Blue representatives will be on hand. Donations can be dropped off at Cole International, 2094 Grand Island Blvd. as well.

Code Blue Relief Mission collects any items people need if they were outside in the cold: new or used winter jackets, coats, hats, gloves, mittens, sleeping bags, blankets, snowpants, boots, socks, long underwear, tarps and hand warmers.
