Fathom Events UFC to bring UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier live to select U.S. movie theaters

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones defends his title against Daniel Cormier Top 155-pound contenders Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone and Myles Jury to meet in co-main event

Fathom Events and the UFC bringUFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier, the first "MegaFight" of 2015, to movie theaters nationwide at 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. At UFC 182, two-time Olympic wrestler and former STRIKEFORCE Grand Prix champion Daniel Cormier (15-0, fighting out of San Jose, California) will get his shot at the pound-for-pound king, UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones (20-1, fighting out of Endicott). It is set to be an epic clash, as these 205-pound superstars and bitter rivals declare war on each other in the Octagon.

In the co-main event, top lightweight contender Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (25-6, 1 NC, fighting out of Albuquerque, New Mexico) meets unbeaten rising star Myles "Fury" Jury (15-0, fighting out of San Diego) in a bout with serious title implications at 155 pounds.

Tickets to watch UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier on the big screen are available at participating theater box offices and at www.FathomEvents.com. The event will be presented in more than 150 select movie theaters around the country through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network.

Locally, the card will be shown at Transit Center Stadium 19 with IMAX, 6707 Transit Road, Buffalo.

Also, Cuban Olympic judoka and No. 6 welterweight Hector Lombard (34-4-1, 1 NC, fighting out of Coconut Creek, Florida) squares off against Josh Burkman (27-10, fighting out of Salt Lake City, Utah), who is making his return to the Octagon. Having compiled an impressive record outside of the organization, Burkman is back and looking to send shockwaves throughout the division.

Other bouts for UFC 182 include:

•No. 15 Brad Tavares (12-4, fighting out of Las Vegas) meeting former STRIKEFORCE champion Nate Marquardt (36-13-2, fighting out of Denver) in a battle of talented middleweights.

•Lightweight grappling specialists square off as No. 15 Rustam Khabilov (17-2, fighting out of Albuquerque) faces Danny Castillo (17-7, fighting out of Sacramento).

•Hard-hitting flyweights are set to meet as No. 12 Kyoji Horiguchi (14-1, fighting out of Tokyo) faces No. 14 Louis Gaudinot (7-3, fighting out of Hoboken, New Jersey).

•Heavy-handed Shawn Jordan (16-6, fighting out of Baton, Rouge, Louisiana) takes on undefeated Jarod Cannonier (7-0, Anchorage, Alaska) in a heavyweight contest.

•13-fight UFC veteran Evan Dunham (14-6, fighting out of Las Vegas) meets submission ace Rodrigo Damm (12-8, fighting out of Vila Velha, Brazil) at lightweight.

•Sambo specialist Omari Akhmedov (13-2, fighting out of Makhachkala, Russia) will take on three-time world grappling champion Mats Nilsson(11-3-1, fighting out of Copenhagen, Denmark) in a middleweight showdown.

In addition, it was recently announced Fathom Events will continue to bring the best of mixed martial arts to select cinemas nationwide throughout the first quarter of 2015. Scheduled events include: UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz Jan. 31; UFC 184: Weidman vs. Belfort Feb. 28; and UFC 185 March 14.
