Assemblyman John Ceretto today announced federal funding is being made available through New York's Home Energy Assistance Program to help families in need heat their homes during the cold winter season. Eligible applicants can receive up to $625 to help heat their homes. Anyone who may need to apply for assistance can find more information about the program at http://otda.ny.gov/programs/heap/ and apply for assistance at https://www.mybenefits.ny.gov/.  Applications can be submitted beginning Monday, Nov. 17.

"No household should have to go cold in the winter, especially those with young children or senior citizens," Ceretto said. "HEAP is a great program that can ensure our communities don't go without heat this winter. If you think you may need help paying your energy bills, I encourage you to go to https://www.mybenefits.ny.gov/ and apply for assistance. If you need any help with the application process, please don't hesitate to contact my office."

Ceretto's office can be reached by phone at 716-282-6062 or by email at [email protected]."
