NCSO sets 'First Nighter' program

The Niagara County Sheriff Office will hold a "First Nighter" program at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, for young adults interested in joining its Law Enforcement Explorers Post. The meeting will take place in the Patrol Room at the sheriff's office located at 5526 Niagara St. Ext., Lockport.

The program is designed to allow young adults who are interested in a career in law enforcement to view the sheriff's office operations. Young adults ages 14 to 20 from all over Niagara County are eligible to attend. Meetings will include presentations from the various departments of the sheriff's office. Young adults over the age of 16 are eligible for "ride-alongs" with the deputies.

The post meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month during the school year.
