Assemblyman John Ceretto announced the trolley that connects Niagara Falls State Park with the hotels in Niagara Falls will be making an additional stop this weekend at the Italian Heritage Festival on Pine Avenue between Portage Avenue and Fifth Street. This additional stop will give visitors another event to go to and help encourage the local tourism economy.

The Italian Heritage Festival runs until 10 p.m. Friday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

"The Italian Heritage Festival is an important celebration of Italian Americans and their contributions to our community and country," Ceretto said. "Encouraging tourists to attend this event is great for our community, and I thank Carmine Bianco, Frank Strangio, John Percy and the NFTA for their partnership in making this extra trolley stop possible."

The trolleys are provided by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority and are supported by funding from hotels in Niagara Falls. The extra stop at the festival adds no additional costs, but has the benefit of providing tourists the chance to visit the festival and create an additional attraction for them.

The festival will include musical entertainment, a bocce ball tournament, a special Italian mass, a 5-K run, and a grape-stomping competition.
