Motown sensation Aretha Franklin, together with her Aretha Franklin Orchestra, thoroughly entertained an Artpark Tuesdays crowd this week, with a splendid blend of her 500-plus soul classics dating from the '60s, '70s and '80s. Selections included "Higher and Higher" to "Until You Come Back to Me," "Angel," "Think" and "Sweet Sixteen," to "Chain of Fools," 'Respect," "Freeway of Love" and "The Way We Were."

The Artpark crowd of 10,000, which ranged in age from seniors to teens, warmly received the 72-year-old superstar, who recalled her times living in Buffalo in the late '40s and early '50s. And throughout the concert, Franklin maintained youthful exuberance as she celebrated her career and soul inspirations, to the delight of her fans. (photos by Terry Duffy and Mary Grace O.)
