•The Friends of the Library will meet Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 6 p.m.

•The D. Richard Dean book signing of his work, "Shadows On The Wall; Life Is What You Make It," will take place Monday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. The book is a concise business autobiography.

One reviewer stated: "It's like a novel that moves through several major events, providing additional facts about Love Canal, Tim McVeigh, and how our Social Security numbers became our prime identifiers. It's concise and very thought provoking. A very good read!"

•The Italian Movie Series continues Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m. with a showing of "Cinema Paradiso." This 1988 Italian drama, written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, involves the story of a famous film director and memories of his childhood at the Cinema Paradiso, where Alfredo, the projectionist, first brought about his love of film.

•The Adult Summer Reading Program, which began July 7, continues through Friday, Aug. 15. Patrons who sign up for the program will receive tickets for each library book they read or listen to. These tickets will be used for a Chinese auction basket raffle.
