Town of Niagara Police Blotter for July 3, 2014

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police between June 25 and 29.

Wednesday, June 25

•Accident, 1900 block of Military Road. Patrol investigated a two-car injury accident.

•Mental health, 2900 block of Bellreng Drive. Mother reported her depressed son grabbed a knife and went into his bedroom. Rural Metro Ambulance was requested for transport to Lockport Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

Thursday, June 26

•Vandalism, 6400 block of Woodside Place. Resident reported ongoing issues with her house getting egged; requested frequent checks of the area at night.

•False alarm, 7500 block of Porter Road and 6900 block of Joann Circle. Patrols responded to alarms at a business and at a residence. Nothing found.

Friday, June 27

•Soliciting, Wildwood Acres. Patrols responded to the 4700 block of Tuscarora Road for parties trying to sell electricity. A 31-year-old Tonawanda man was issued a local law appearance ticket for soliciting.

•Fireworks, Chester Avenue and John Street area and in the 6900 block of Laur Road. Nothing found in the first incident. In the second incident patrol found a large bonfire and the homeowner admitted setting off fireworks.

Saturday, June 28

•Aid assist, I-190. Patrol assisted State Police with dogs in the roadway. Later, patrol responded to another animal complaint for two beagle mix dogs in and out of the roadway in the 6000 block of Porter Road.

•Vandalism, 800 block of Chestnut Place. Complainant reported that sometime overnight someone left key marks on all four doors of her vehicle, keyed the word "slut" on the trunk and left a threatening note on the windshield.

•Shoplifting, 2000 block of Military Road and at the 1500 block of Military Road. In the first incident, a 15-year-old juvenile was arrested for taking $198.97 in clothing from a mall store. In the second incident, a 40-year-old Grand Island woman was arrested for taking food and cosmetic items valued at $73.33 from a grocery store. Later at the same grocery store, a 42-year-old Buffalo Avenue man was arrested for taking a family pack of strip steaks valued at $32.18.

Sunday, June 29

•Fireworks, 7200 block of Packard Road. Residents observed setting off fireworks on the front lawn. Advised to cease, they said they were all out of fireworks.

•Juvenile problem, 8000 block of Hickory Lane. Report of juveniles running through the neighborhood and causing a disturbance. Nothing found.
