Regal Entertainment Group, a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theater circuit in the U.S., today announced the opening of the new Regal Premium Experience at the Regal Walden Galleria Stadium 16 in Cheektowaga. The all-digital giant screen experience was installed in an existing auditorium and opened today with "Edge of Tomorrow."

"I know Buffalo residents will enjoy this upgrade at their local Regal Cinemas, as our RPX auditoriums offer the best in sight and sound in the industry," said Russ Nunley, vice president of marketing and communications at Regal Entertainment Group. "This already well known location will be even more popular as it now offers a premium presentation for movie fans who are seeking the ultimate experience."

RPX presents movies the way filmmakers intended with powerful, uncompressed surround sound and bright eye-popping images in 2D and RealD 3D. Guests will enjoy the custom-built premium environment featuring luxurious seats with high-back headrests. A giant immersive screen is illuminated by high-quality digital projectors and completed with a state-of-the-art sound system.

Regal managers have expressed their confidence in the presentation with "The RPX Guarantee": "You'll agree it's the best experience or your next movie is free."

"We know movie fans are excited to see Tom Cruise back in action on the big screen, and what better way to see 'Edge of Tomorrow' than in our Regal Premium Experience auditorium?" said Jewel Gallagher, northern regional marketing manager for Regal Entertainment Group.

Regal technicians individually design each RPX location to provide an enhanced experience in sight and sound. The Regal Premium Experience at Walden Galleria will include a massive screen stretching more than 51 feet wide. The brightest, clearest images possible are delivered to the screen by a 32,000-lumen digital projector with enhanced RealD 3D light doubler technology. The 37,200-watt digital audio system will surround moviegoers in a specially designed 7.1 speaker array providing pinpoint sound. This powerful sound system incorporates 32 different loudspeaker components including three 21" subwoofers for deep resonating bass.

The epic action of "Edge of Tomorrow" unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Maj. William Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop, forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again ... and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Regal fans are encouraged to like Regal Cinemas' Facebook page and download the Regal Movies app. Moviegoers can program their favorite theater and purchase tickets all from their mobile device. The Regal app also gives patrons the ability to upload their Regal Crown Club card straight to a smart phone for easy access while on the go.
