DuBell announces for Porter Town clerk

Barb DuBell, appointed town clerk for the Town of Porter, has announced her candidacy for the office of Porter town clerk.

DuBell started working for the Town of Porter in 2000 when she was hired as the part-time assessor clerk. She continued in that position for eight years. In 2008 she was appointed as the full-time deputy town Clerk and registrar of Vital Statistics.

During her five years as deputy town clerk she had the good fortune to work for Town Clerk Gail Zachary, who retired in December 2013. DuBell who was appointed by the Town Board as acting town clerk will be running to fill her unexpired term.

DuBell is a member of the Niagara County Clerk's Association and the New York State Town Clerk's Association. She has attended yearly New York State Town Clerk Conferences and has completed multiple classes for training in the different aspects of the town clerk's office.

As Porter town clerk, DuBell handles many tasks that are mandated by law. She is a notary public, recording secretary, and election coordinator. She handles the sporting licenses, marriage licensing, issues birth and death certificates and numerous other jobs.

As the town clerk she is willing to go that extra mile to help the residents of the Town of Porter. She is informative, patient, cheerful and takes the time to listen to the needs of our residents.

"I am committed to the Town of Porter and its residents," said DuBell. "I believe you treat people the way you want to be treated, with respect and kindness. I look forward to being able to do just that for many years to come."

DuBell has lived in Youngstown for 16 years with her husband, Jay. They have four children and two grandchildren.
