Assemblyman John Ceretto today announced he is cosponsoring the Animal Abuser Registration Act (A.2905), legislation that would require convicted animal abusers to register with the sheriff of the county in which they are located. This would give pet owners awareness of people who pose a risk to their pets, and law enforcement more information to prevent animal abuse.
"I have two dogs that my family and I care for very much," Ceretto said. "I'm sponsoring this legislation to give everyone who has pets the information they need to keep them safe.
"Pets bring us joy and become like members of our family, so let's make sure to give them all the protections they deserve."
