The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library will host the fifth annual "Dessert and Wine in the Stacks" fundraiser Friday, April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Youngstown Free Library, located in the Red Brick School Village Center, 240 Lockport St. The event is suitable for adults and children.

The dessert and appetizer samplings will come from recipes found in the library's collection. The children's room will stage punch and kid-friendly treats.

"Thanks to the baking prowess of the library's trustees, friends and staff, this event continues to be a tasty success," said Friends President Charlotte Viscio Clark. "We invite the community to sample our treats in the comfort of our library."

Tickets for the event are available at the library, at $8 for 10 advance sale, or $10 for 10 that evening. Desserts and appetizers will cost one ticket each. Wine will cost two tickets.

The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library has a membership of about 250 and is run by a volunteer board of directors. It meets every third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Youngstown Free Library.
